The Kids BJJ 8-week program introduces children to the fundamentals of grappling, movement, and self-defense based on core Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) principles. Designed for kids ages 6–12, this program builds confidence, discipline, and physical coordination through structured games, drills, and safe partner exercises. DRESS CODE
To keep our program safe, comfortable, and easy to join, we’ve designed our Kids Intro to BJJ program to be no-gi — meaning your child does not need a traditional martial arts uniform for the first 2 weeks of the program. After 2 weeks, kids will need to wear a full uniform and can purchase one through Rise Training.

What Your Child Should Wear for the first 2 weeks:
- Top: Rash guard or fitted athletic t-shirt (tucked in)
- Bottom: Athletic shorts or leggings (no zippers, buttons, or pockets)
- Feet: Barefoot on the mat (please make sure feet are clean before class)
- Sandles/Slides: No bare feet off the mats
- Optional: Mouthguard (especially for older kids or if contact is higher)
What to Avoid:
- Loose or baggy clothing
- Clothing with hard parts (zippers, snaps, buttons)
- Jewelry, watches, or accessories
- Open wounds or exposed skin irritations (please cover or notify staff)
- Students and all gear must be clean and dry before every class
- Fingernails and toenails trimmed
- Long hair tied back securely
